Woman accused of using day care services she was not entitled to | News

FORT EDWARD - A Washington County woman has been arrested and accused of using day care services paid for by the Washington County Department of Social Services when she was not entitled to.

Twenty-six-year-old Laura Brennan of Hudson Falls was arrested Thursday and charged with grand larceny. She is accused of using the day care services when she was not supposed to and in the process; she received $5,578 in benefits that she was not entitled to.

She was arrested and arraigned in the Town of Fort Edward Court. Brennan was released on her own recognizance and will reappear in court on Thursday, Feb. 23.

The case is being sent to the District Attorney’s Office for possible grand jury action as well as additional charges.
